Salary: £36,363 - £38,220 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent. Required as soon as possible

Ipswich Borough Council is looking for a Waste and Cleansing Supervisor.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a frontline manager, playing a key role in the Waste and Cleansing Management Service.

Reporting to the Waste and Cleansing Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective running of the waste collection and street cleansing services within the Borough of Ipswich. You will be a member of a large team carrying out a variety of frontline services that are often in the public and media spotlight.

We are seeking a motivated supervisor to join our team. You will be part of the team responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, ensuring that we are able to provide a safe and effective service with a first-class reputation.

Requirements

  • 2 A Levels or an NVQ Level 4 or 3 years qualitative experience.
  • Line management responsibilities for a team undertaking various tasks.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage with ever-changing work priorities in this vital frontline, demanding service.
  • Responsible for monitoring work standards and implementing performance management measures when necessary.
  • Expected to develop new working practices to ensure that we continue to operate efficiently and review these activities regularly in line with Health and Safety Executive best practice.

Experience

  • Experience in successfully leading a team of frontline staff.
  • Experience may have been gained in a Waste and Cleansing role or perhaps working in Transport, Parcel, or other multi-drop industry, leading a team that works remotely.
  • Ability to work on a rotating pattern of work – including early mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
