Waste Cleaner (Night Shift) – Permanent
Salary: £33,000 per annum
The Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Industrial Cleaner to join our team on a permanent night shift pattern, working Sunday to Thursday from 10:00pm to 6:00am.
Based within a Household Waste Treatment Facility, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of plant equipment and work areas, ensuring optimum process conditions and supporting our contractual commitments. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced industrial environment, requiring a strong commitment to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and maintaining a range of processing equipment, including:
- Trommels
- Ballistic separators
- Conveyor systems
- General plant and building structures
- Removing and disposing of mixed general waste safely and efficiently
- Ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard
- Adhering to site health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
- Supporting operational requirements as directed by site management
Working Environment
- Physically demanding role—manual handling and physical exertion required
- Regular work at height may be necessary
- Hot working environment during operations
- Full training will be provided, including any site-specific or externally accredited qualifications

About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a positive, can-do attitude and a strong focus on workplace safety.
Essential Requirements
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to undertake physically demanding work
- Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning, waste management, recycling, or a similar environment
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- No previous waste industry experience is required as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
