Grade B | Permanent Salary: £26,556–£28,764 per annum | 37 hours per week
About the Role
We are seeking two reliable, self-motivated individuals to join the Waste & Recycling Team as Waste Collection Assistants.
As part of a small crew, you will use your strong communication and customer service skills to interact politely and professionally with colleagues and the public. You will be a quick learner, a team player, and capable of working with minimal supervision, performing a variety of duties including:
- Operating all vehicle systems and cab devices
- Moving, handling, collecting, and loading refuse, recycling, garden waste, and food waste
- Operating machinery and undertaking heavy manual labour requirements physical fitness and mobility
Responsibilities
- Engaging effectively with team members and the public
- Independently coordinating refuse, recycling, and waste collection rounds
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Assisting with maintenance and servicing of collection vehicles when necessary
Requirements
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work in a team environment under minimal supervision
- Good physical fitness to handle heavy manual tasks
- Manual dexterity and coordination for operating machinery and equipment
- Experience in driving or similar collections would be beneficial but not essential
