About the Role
This position involves performing scheduled maintenance, investigating equipment failures, carrying out repairs, and assisting with installations and commissioning within the DCWW (Drinking Water & Welsh Water) asset base.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled planned maintenance on all equipment relating to DCWW’s asset base to minimise plant breakdowns and comply with company procedures
- Investigate and repair plant failures promptly to avoid service disruptions and ensure compliance
- Conduct like-for-like installations, refurbishments, and assist in commissioning equipment to specification and on time
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure correct tolerance and fits for efficient plant operations
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of treatment processes across individual assets to enable swift problem assessment
- Inspect, repair, install, and test mechanical and electrical equipment in line with legislative requirements
- Actively participate in risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and all health and safety (H&S) related processes
- Assess spare parts and materials required, ordering where necessary via supervision or direct from suppliers
- Implement and maintain Information Management System (IMS) procedures to ISO standards, ensuring records are compliant for internal and BSI audits
- Use a mobile device to log all work details and time accounting
- Collaborate closely within the Alliance Partnership to ensure effective implementation of capital schemes

Requirements
Ideal Candidate
- Electrical bias preferred for suitability.
- A recognised mechanical/electrical apprenticeship with either:
- A NVQ Level 3 qualification or
- City & Guilds equivalent
- Full valid UK driving licence
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Practical industry experience supporting apprenticeship to ensure H&S compliance

- On-call rota (1 week in 11)
