We’re seeking to recruit Wastewater Recycling Leaders who can join a high-impact team essential for directing the performance, compliance, and future of vital environmental services.
The Role

We’re looking for a Wastewater Recycling Leader to take the lead in managing and driving improvements in a critical service. In this role, you’ll:
- Lead a large, dispersed team (~120–200 people) to ensure compliance, safety, and operational excellence.
- Balance performance targets with health and safety, all while maintaining compliance and sustainability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver smarter, more efficient processes across 200+ sites and over 1,000 pump stations.
- Allocate responsibility for £50m+ operational budgets and £200m+ capital investments, balancing financial goals with risk management.
- Drive team performance, cultural growth, and continuous improvement while challenging existing practices to enhance efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Inspire a high-performing, culturally robust team across multiple sites.

- Technical Expertise: Grow expertise in wastewater recycling while ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
- Influential Communication: Engage with stakeholders and manage expectations effectively.
- Operational Excellence: Continuously assess business operations for improvement and added value.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in managing assets, people, and budgets, especially in high-impact environments.
- Track record of developing high-performing teams and fostering strong health/safety culture.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and cultivate a customer-focused service mindset.
- Demonstrated technical ability related to wastewater and recycling, with a knack for complex process comprehension.
- Reputation for stakeholder influence and commercial decision-making with positive environmental impact.
