About the Role
We’re looking for a Wastewater Recycling Leader to front a high-impact leadership team responsible for:
- Ownership of operational performance, compliance, and the future of wastewater recycling.
- Cross-site leadership: Overseeing ~200 sites, 1,000+ pump stations, a £50m+ operational budget, and £200m+ capital investment.
- Driving health & safety excellence, environmentalpliance, and customer outcomes.
- Balancing ambitious financial, operational, and risk targets—always balancing performance with sustainable value.
This isn’t just about driving results—it’s inspiring leadership:
- Building a high-performing culture—through teambuilding, giving constructive feedback, and embracing continuous improvement.
- Challenging the status quo: Finding smarter, more effective ways of working across a team of c. 120–200 people.
- Influencing across stakeholders to lead change—technically capable in wastewater, commercially astute, and able to navigate complexity.

Key Requirements
We’re seeking someone who:
Core Leadership Experience
- Proven track record in managing large, geographically dispersed teams (similarly in scale to 120–200 people).
- Filial budget responsibility (similar catchment areas and budgets to £50m+ operations).
- Expertise in health & safety culture, environmental compliance, and financial/operational performance improvement.
Technical + Strategic Fit
- Deep technical understanding of wastewater systems and processes.
- Ability to read complex daily-data analytics and translate them into impactful action.
- Strong commercial acumen—ably making data-driven decisions under challenge.
Emotional & Cultural Alignment
- Passion for people-led change: Ability to develop others, inspire commitment to excellence, and drive shared purpose.
- Resilience + adaptability: Comfortable addressing issues head-on, shaping evolve change programmes, and winner fluid in an ambitious operational environment.
