Waste Water Treatment Plant Operative
At ABP Food Group, one of Europe’s leading consumer food producers with over 60 years of experience, we are looking to fill a role at our Kingswinford site.
About the Role
You will be part of the Environmental team, ensuring the needs of the business are addressed efficiently and effectively.
Working as a Waste Water Treatment Plant Operative, you will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
- Ensure the site effluent treatment plant and associated equipment operates at maximum efficiency and complies with West Midlands water consent levels, monitoring discharge regularly
- Perform regular cleaning of the effluent treatment plant, equipment, and surrounding yard areas as detailed in site SOP’s (including pre-start checks)
- Conduct regular testing of effluent discharge water to confirm compliance within consent levels, according to site SOP’s and the WWTP Operating Guide
- Maintain external areas to ABP standards, including bunds, tanks, and all yard spaces adjacent to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
- Check surface water monitoring points (SWMP) daily
- Keep the drainage system operational and unblock drains in the yard when necessary
- Assist the yard team with site waste collection and recycling activities, including unloading deliveries (forklift training/licensing will be provided)
- Carry out basic maintenance in the WWTP (training will be provided) and support the Engineering team with repairs and maintenance
