Description Aviation recruitment experts Optime are hiring Waste Yard Operative to join a respected and welcoming team at East Midlands Airport.
Start Dates: ASAP
What’s on offer: Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour Hours of work: 08:00 am to 15:00 pm - You must be flexible with the hours you work. Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (May be subject to change) Weekly Pay Temp to Perm opportunity based on performance
Key Responsibilities: Carry out general operational yard duties to maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organised working environment. Ensure the yard is kept clean, tidy, and presentable at all times in line with company standards. Undertake on-site waste sortation activities, ensuring waste streams are correctly segregated and managed. Maintain compliance with ISO standards by completing required inspections, checks, and associated documentation. Conduct routine workshop and equipment inspections, ensuring all equipment remains safe, serviceable, and compliant. Perform general housekeeping duties across the yard and surrounding operational areas. Support Health & Safety compliance through routine checks of first aid equipment, fire extinguishers, and other safety-critical items. Operate plant, machinery, and equipment safely and in accordance with training and company procedures. Report any defects, hazards, incidents, or non-compliance issues to management promptly. Follow all airport security, environmental, and operational procedures. Assist with additional cleaning and operational duties as required by the department.

What you’ll need: Good understanding of health and safety practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual handling duties.
