Department: Operations

Reports to: UK Water Operations Manager

Location: Remote with travel to sites in the North of England

The Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on Wastewater Adoptions Site Inspector to act as Leep Utilities’ primary on-site representative across developments.

In this field-based role, you’ll work closely with developers and contractors to ensure wastewater infrastructure is installed to adoptable standards and in line with approved designs. You’ll carry out inspections at key stages, identify and report defects, and oversee their resolution to ensure full compliance and quality delivery.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working on-site, has a strong eye for detail, and is committed to delivering high standards in wastewater or civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately report and identify any remediation work required.
  • Assist the Wastewater Adoption Managers with any on-site enquiries and site issues.
  • Ensure all wastewater assets are fit for adoption with asset records correctly documented.
  • Assist and advise engineering solutions with the developer when they arise.
  • Ensure a good working relationship with site agents and ground workers.
  • Collect and document water assets on the Leep Utilities Asset Database.
  • Ensure sewer networks put forward for adoption are constructed and adopted in accordance with approved drawings, and to Design and Construction Guidance.
  • Maintain effective site records electronically for all inspections carried out on-site.
  • Attend pre-construction site meetings with the developer and their groundwork contractors.
  • Witness the air test/pressure test of sewer network and pressure pipes and ensure they comply with the requirements set out in the Design and Construction Guidance.
  • Plan and independently manage your own site inspection programme to ensure that all construction sites are monitored to the appropriate standard.
  • Respond to the changing priorities of individual construction sites, resulting in reprogramming of workload plan.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
