About the Role
We are looking for Wastewater Network Modellers (Assistant to Principal) to join our established team, delivering projects for some of the UK’s largest regulated water companies. Our water team collaborates with a variety of WSP units, offering exciting cross-disciplinary engagement while meeting our core client needs.
These roles allow you to sharpen your technical skills, ensuring we maintain excellence in both quality and service efficiency.
You will support hydraulic modelling studies for our regulated water clients using industry-leading tools like InfoWorks ICM/CS, as well as contributing to projects utilising TUFLOW, Causeway Flow, our in-house FRM framework, and other specialist software.
Key Responsibilities
You will work collaboratively to:
- Analyze, enhance, or construct hydraulic models to assess and improve asset performance
- Provide technical expertise on urban drainage projects, contributing to future project strategies
- Support feasibility studies and option evaluations via network modelling
- Optimize asset performance using data-driven approaches
- Produce technical reports and supporting visualizations/drawings
- Define field investigation requirements and coordinate them effectively
- Negotiate client expectations, host meetings, and nurture relationships at all levels
- Share knowledge and drive continuous learning
- Amplify the WSP brand through industry participation and thought leadership

Core Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate:
- A degree in a related field (engineering, environmental science, geography)
- Chartered status (e.g., ICE/CIWEM) or active pursuit of professional qualification
- Proven expertise in urban drainage modelling with the capacity to verify technical outputs
- Extensive experience with InfoWorks ICM (or equivalent) and geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo)
- Technical familiarity with Hydraulic modelling software relevant to both regulated infrastructure and specialized applications
