A Water Supply Pipe Engineer

At HomeServe, you’ll help keep customers’ homes running smoothly by focusing on water supply systems.

Location

Wolverhampton

Salary

£33,220 - £37,810 (depending on experience) + guaranteed £1,500 bonus in your first year

Hours

Average 40 hours per week (including evenings, weekends and bank holidays)


About the Role

As a Water Supply Pipe Engineer, you’ll work directly in customers’ homes, performing essential repairs and maintenance on water supply systems. The role is dynamic, with no two days the same, offering variety and autonomy.


Responsibilities

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing leaks on water mains
  • Laying and replacing pipework
  • Conducting excavation and reinstatement work when required
  • Managing jobs independently while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Representing HomeServe professionally in customers’ homes

Flexibility and adaptability are key, as the role will often involve evening, weekend, and bank holiday work.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, we’re looking for:

  • Experience working on water mains, including repairs, installations, and leak detection
  • A full UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 penalty points
  • Strong customer service skills to interact confidently with clients
  • The ability to work independently and troubleshoot technical issues onsite
  • A proactive, can-do attitude to challenges in a fast-paced environment

Training & Development

We provide structured support to ensure you start strong:

  • Induction Week (5 days in-class at our Walsall Head Office):
    • Full theoretical training covering Health & Safety, technical details, and customer service best practices
  • Field Training Week (on-the-job with an experienced engineer)
  • (Note: HomeServe will cover accommodation and meal allowances if required during induction weeks*)
