Water Treatment Technician - Glasgow (Permanent, Full-Time, Mobile)

An established facilities services company is seeking a Tier 1 Water Treatment Technician for a mobile, permanent, full-time role across Glasgow and the wider Central Belt. Salary up to £28,500 DOE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and remedial water hygiene/treatment works in collaboration with the technical team, schedulers, and contract administrators.
  • Conduct temperature monitoring, showerhead descaling, and inspections/cleans of cold water storage tanks.
  • Perform cooling tower cleaning and disinfection.
  • Service Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs).
  • Collect and analyse water sampling data.
  • Undertake Low-Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) system testing and analysis.
  • Dose cooling systems with inhibitor and biocide chemicals.
  • Conduct steam boiler testing and analysis.
  • Service water softeners and associated equipment.
  • Execute plumbing remedial works as required.
  • Ensure a complete and up-to-date record of ACOP L8/site logbooks, acting as the Primary Technician where necessary.

Person Specification

  • Legionella Awareness Training, including knowledge of:
    • Regulations/Byelaws
    • ACOP L8
    • HSG274 (and other relevant guidance)
  • Water Hygiene Service Delivery competence based on Table 2.1 of HSG274 Part 2.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Passes Enhanced DBS clearance (including barred lists) as this role involves working with vulnerable groups.
