Windermere Outdoor Adventure Watersports Instructor
Windermere Outdoor Adventure is looking for an experienced seasonal instructor to work at our beautiful site on the shore of Lake Windermere. We offer a mixture of school, youth group and holiday courses to children, as well as private sessions for children and adults. We cater to a very wide range of clientele and also run a hire centre alongside our tuition.
Your role as a seasonal watersport instructor will be to lead groups independently on the lake, catering to the individual needs of each group, taking a lead role in the development of new sessions and expand our current client base. In addition to work as part of the hire centre team, hiring kayaks and Paddleboards to our customers. You will need to be good with people, and confident talking in front of large groups. You will be responsible for delivering excellence customer service and strong and accurate safety briefings.

We have a strong grounding in Health and Safety for all our participants and staff, so a good working knowledge of health and safety and risk assessments is a bonus, though this will form the basis of your training with us.
As with all outdoor roles, there is always maintenance, admin and general cleaning to do, which is completed by all of the team. We are a strong team, who thrive on working together, to give the best experience to our customers.
We would like to find an instructor who is confident and enthusiastic, who can lead groups independently and who can take responsibility for the hire centre when the senior team are not on site. We will look to provide opportunities for additional training and your own personal development as an instructor.

Pay will be £12.60 per hour
Experience
You will have:
- At least 1 year prior experience working with groups independently on larger lakes
- At least 1 year helping with health and Safety and risk management in an outdoor environment.
- A current understanding of the RYA and British canoeing
Qualifications Required
- 16 hour First Aid Qualification
- Safeguarding Level 1
- RYA Level 2 Powerboat
- British Canoeing Paddlesport Leader (BCU/UKCC Level 2)
- British Canoeing Performance awards in another discipline other than your Leader award (Or BCU 3 star)
- RYA Dingy Instructor
Desirable Qualifications
- RYA Safety Boat
- RYA Senior Instructor
- Open Water Leader or UKCC Moderate Water endorsement or BCU Level 3
- Windermere Boatman's licence
