WCA Functional Assessor
Registered Nurse (RMN/RNLD/RGN), Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist – Employment & Support Allowance Assessor
Location: Hybrid – Watford Salary: £50,000+ per year + bonus scheme Schedule:
- Full-time (WCA): Monday to Friday (no weekends)
- Part-time considered: Must commit to 9 weeks of full-time training

About the Role
Are you ready to transition your healthcare career into a medico-legal pathway with Work Capability Assessments (Ealmazement Support Allowance assessments)?
This role requires your clinical expertise, attention to detail, and compassionate approach while assessing customers with multiple clinical conditions. You’ll review business relationships via paper, telephone, video, and face-to-face assessments.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting up to four to six assessments per day
- Capturing written reports based on clinical observations, questioning, and findings
- Submitting reports to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for support decisions
- Assessing claims for Employment and Support Allowance
Training & Development
- 6-month paid training programme with industry-leading tutors
- Training you current clinical skills for medico-legal assessments
- Full registration maintenance for:
- RGN registrants (NMC)
- Physiotherapists & Occupational Therapists (HCPC)
- Ongoing CPD (100+ hours per annum) and revalidation support
- Supervised training with clinical mentors
- Opportunity to study towards a Diploma in Disability Assessment Medicine (accredited by the FOM)

Requirements
✔ Qualified healthcare professional:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN), Registered Mental Nurse (RNLD), or State Enrolled Nurse (RMN)
- Or equivalent Physiotherapist/ Occupational Therapist (HCPC registered)
✔ Clinical experience:
- Minimum 1 year in inpatient-facing roles with diverse medical conditions
✔ Key skills:
- Proficiency in typing (35 words per minute) and digital assessments
- Highly literate, prepare clear written reports
- Strong communication skills to adapt to different assessments
- Computer proficiency as an advantage
