Registered Nurse (Nurse Functional Assessor)
Location: Bridgend Salary: £38,000 – £49,000 (current role: £39,500) Contract: Full Time / Part Time

This role is essential for carrying out clinical reviews, offering case managers advice on PIP (Personal Independence Payment) referrals, and addressing complaints from customers, welfare representatives, MPs, and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
You’ll also contribute to professional development and business improvements by providing outcomes and feedback on healthcare complaints.
About the Role: Nurse Functional Assessor
In this role, you’ll leverage your clinical expertise to assess how an individual’s disability or health condition influences their daily life. You’ll tackle complex cases involving:
- Physical and mental health conditions
- Chronic pain disorders

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct telephone, video, or in-person assessments to evaluate how health conditions impact a person’s daily functioning
- Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
- Continuously expand your clinical knowledge and assessment skills
Position Requirements
- Valid NMC registration (Nursing and Midwifery Council)
- At least 1 year of broad post-registration adult or mental health experience (in or outside the NHS)
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Familiarity with computer software (e.g., report-writing tools)
