Registered Nurse – Nurse Functional Assessor (PIP Referrals) in Boston

Job Position: Registered Nurse (Nurse Functional Assessor) Location: Boston Salary: £39,500 (range: £38,000 – £49,000) Contract: Full Time/Part Time Flexibility: Hybrid, no bank holidays/weekend shifts

As a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner, you’ll make a real difference by:

  • Conducting clinical reviews for PIP (Personal Independence Payment) referrals.
  • Advising case managers on complaints and enquiries from customers, representatives, and the DWP.
  • Providing feedback on healthcare professional complaints to support professional development and business improvements.

About the Role

As a Maximus Nurse Functional Assessor, you’ll use your clinical expertise to help individuals with disabilities or health conditions live independently. You’ll work with complex cases, including physical and mental health conditions, chronic pain disorders, and long-term illnesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments to evaluate how health conditions impact daily life.
  • Write detailed WCA (Work Capability Assessment) reports for the DWP to determine eligibility for benefits.
  • Continuously develop clinical skills through structured feedback and supervision.

Essential Requirements

✅ Valid NMC registration number ✅ 1+ year of post-registration experience (adult/mental health, within or outside NHS) ✅ Entitlement to work in the UK (no sponsorships offered) ✅ Strong oral/written communication skills ✅ Proficiency in report writing and computer software
