Salary Range

£38,000 – £49,000 (£39,500 offered)

The Nurse Functional Assessor role involves clinical case management, delivering expert advice on PIP (Personal Independence Payment) referrals for customers, welfare rights groups, MPs, and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Your expertise will advise on complaints, provide diagnostic outcomes, and contribute to professional development, business improvement, and policy feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical reviews and provide evidence-based assessments of case-related health conditions, including physical and mental health disorders, and chronic pain.
  • Support case managers with complaint resolution and PIP enquiries.
  • Collaborate on trend analysis and professional development initiatives using assessment feedback.
  • Prepare detailed, clinical reports for records and decision-making.

Requirements

Essential Criteria

✔ Must be a NMC-registered Nurse (either Adult Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, or Nurse Practitioner). ✔ At least 1 year of post-registration nursing experience (adult health or mental health, within or outside NHS). ✔ United Kingdom work eligibility (no sponsorship available). ✔ Exceptional oral and written communication, able to balance clinical accuracy with empathy. ✔ Knowledge of rehabilitation, social care, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., Equality Act 2010, DA2/H modules). ✔ Ability to use word processing software for reports (Microsoft Word/Excel).
