Wealth Administrator – Exeter (EX2)

Full-time, Permanent | Up to £33,000 (DoE)

We are an established Senior Partner Practice of St. James’s Place, based in Exeter.

Together, we work with individuals, families and business owners to provide high-quality financial planning and wealth management advice.

About the Role

As Wealth Administrator, you’ll play a key operational role within our high-quality wealth management practice. Acting as a core support partner to our financial planners, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering an excellent client experience through accurate administration
  • Strong organisation and responsive communication
  • Reliable process management, ensuring client reviews, follow-ups and workflows are executed efficiently

This role is the engine room of the firm’s client service proposition, driving organisational success and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will take ownership of the following tasks:

  • Own and manage client servicing tasks for our entire client bank
  • Support client review cycles and recurring servicing tasks, ensuring they meet deadlines
  • Maintain accurate client records, workflows and management information to the firm’s high standards
  • Collaborate closely with wealth planners and paraplanners, supporting case preparation and client communication
  • Handle client enquiries professionally, warmly, and efficiently to ensure a seamless experience
  • Assist with compliance and operational processes, ensuring complete adherence to the firm’s standards
  • Identify process inefficiencies and suggest practical improvements
  • Escalate appropriately when requiring judgement, authority or technical input
  • Foster a progressive, client-focused, and supportive team culture

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking someone who is organised, reliable and professional, comfortable thriving in a detailed, process-driven environment.

You’ll need confidence managing multiple tasks, maintaining precise records, and communicating effectively with clients and colleagues. While relevant experience in financial services administration, wealth management, or a St James’s Place Partner Practice is helpful, the most critical traits are:

  • Accuracy and meticulousness
  • Strong ownership of tasks
  • Professionalism and a willingness to learn

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Strong administration and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle priorities effectively
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • A warm yet professional communication style, suitable for both written (email) and verbal (telephone) interactions
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage tasks, deadlines and follow-ups reliably
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous process improvement
  • Familiarity and comfort working with CRM systems, such as Salesforce, and workflow tools
  • A collaborative mindset, with a desire to support colleagues
  • An interest in developing a career within wealth management
