Wealth Credit Risk Senior Officer - SVP

About the Team / Role
Citi’s Wealth Risk Management is a global Second Line of Defence (2LoD) organisation supporting the Wealth business, focusing on credit and operational risk oversight for both retail and wholesale lending, deposits, and investments.
Key Objectives
- Establish and maintain effective frameworks and governance
- Promote a strong risk culture
- Apply sound credit risk judgment
- Ensure proactive risk management
- Strengthen First Line of Defence (1LoD) teams through oversight and challenge
What You’ll Do
Manage and oversee the following critical areas:

Credit Portfolio Oversight
- Balance risk and reward to align with company’s risk appetite
- Develop advanced limit-setting methodologies incorporating industry trends, regulatory standards, and internal risk appetite

Risk Profiling & Monitoring
- Maintain comprehensive risk profiles through coordination with regulators
- Conduct regular portfolio health checks and anticipate emerging risk factors
- Lead regular portfolio analyses and provide updates on performance and risk trends

Limit & Stress Testing Governance
- Interpret limit governance rules, oversee single-name and distribution risk
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Represent the Second Line of Defence in risk appetite discussions

Credit Reserve & Portfolio Valuation
- Supervise end-to-end frameworks for adequacy of credit reserves and stress testing

Account Strategies & Compliance
- Review and validate new accounting strategies to minimize risk exposure
- Conduct internal and regulatory reviews with a focus on internal processes and controls

Ethics & Regulatory Compliance
- Uphold ethical conduct
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Critically evaluate activities and processes for adherence to standards

Analytical & Strategic Decision-Making
- Assess risk for business decisions using advanced analytical skills
- Monitor and adapt to trends in credit risk analysis for improved forecasting
- Enhance compliance processes and negotiate strategic refinements

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with teams in risk management, technology, and reporting
- Communicate complex financial concepts to stakeholders across the enterprise

Ad-Hoc Risk Management
- Respond promptly to ad-hoc transaction requests
- Identify and mitigate trade-specific risks
Requirements
Are you ready to step into this role? Bring the following experience and expertise:
Ideal Candidates Should Have
- Solid expertise in Wholesale Credit Risk (corporate), including:
- Due diligence, transactional, structuring, and documentation experience
- Proven track record in:
- Oversight, challenge, and review of credit portfolio management
- Credit analysis and counterparty risk management
- Loanable value methodology and portfolio stress testing oversight
- Risk management tool usage and exposure monitoring
- Accuracy and completeness of credit data
- Strong analytical skills:
- Ability to interpret complex financial data for decision-making
- Practical experience in:
- Conducting risk reviews, process controls, and portfolio reporting
- Regular collaboration with regulatory bodies for reporting and oversight

Education
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred: Master’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field)
