Mindful Surrey UK has been supporting people throughout the UK since 2018, with all aspects of mental health. We offer free and subsidised support to people who are facing mental health difficulties and struggling financially. We want to modernise our existing website.
What difference will you make?
This opportunity could change people's lives. Mental health has rarely been such an issue for so many, and Mindful Surrey UK works to support adults and children in the UK. By improving our website, you would help us communicate effectively and inspire people to come to us for support. By working with us, you would have a major impact on helping people reduce stress, manage anxiety, cope with addictive behaviours, improve sleep, and lead calmer, happier lives.
Being able to offer free support is something that is greatly appreciated by people who are struggling and unable to pay for help. This support is funded through donations and profits from sessions taken by people who can afford to pay. Therefore we want the website to be more inviting to potential donors, in order to increase the number of people we can support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What are we looking for?
Our ideal volunteer is someone with creative ideas and who is experienced at designing or modernising websites. The person we appoint will be working with Catherine, our charity director. We are looking for someone to offer design ideas more than someone to actually make the edits, as Catherine is able to make the edits herself (if the volunteer does not have time to do this).
The person does not need experience or understanding of mindfulness meditation nor mental health issues, but an appreciation of the importance of mental health is important.

What will you be doing?
We want someone with website development experience to improve our existing Wix website, in order to promote our classes and courses more effectively, as well as our fund-raising opportunities.
The website shows the variety of courses we run, (for young people, adults and businesses), information about mindfulness, our blog, resources, and testimonials.
We have an SEO manager (a Reach volunteer) but we would like someone to suggest ideas for modernising the website and making it more engaging and inviting. We also want to ensure the mobile view website is more effective.
Our sessions are delivered as live online courses and also in-person (in Dorking, Surrey). You'll be working with Catherine Nasskau, who teaches the courses and runs Mindful Surrey UK.
