About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Web Developer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking company based in Eastbourne. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a developer who is eager to grow into a senior position, taking on increasing responsibilities and leadership within the team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and maintaining real-time web applications and management systems that are vital to the company's operations. You will work collaboratively across various teams, contributing to the architecture, performance optimization, and security enhancements of web solutions.

The Web Developer will be involved in all stages of the development lifecycle, from conception through deployment and ongoing maintenance. This role requires a proactive individual with a passion for technology, a desire to learn, and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and team members. As part of your career progression, you will have the opportunity to develop into a senior or lead role, taking on more complex projects and mentoring junior developers.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or demonstrate equivalent professional experience. You should have at least two years of commercial experience in web development, showcasing a solid understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies. Proficiency in server-side programming languages such as PHP,.NET, or similar is essential. Additionally, you should have hands-on experience with JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, and CSS to create responsive and user-friendly interfaces.

Experience working with SQL Server and scripting is required, along with a good understanding of security protocols, accessibility standards, usability principles, and SEO best practices. The role demands strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to stakeholders. A proactive attitude and ambition to progress within the company are highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance real-time web applications to meet business needs and improve user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, project managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Participate in the architecture and design of scalable, secure, and efficient web systems.
  • Optimize application performance through code refinement and infrastructure improvements.
  • Implement security measures to protect applications and user data against vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain and update existing web applications, ensuring compatibility and compliance with industry standards.
  • Contribute to documentation, testing, and deployment processes to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Mentor junior team members and support their professional development as the team grows.
