Maternity-Cover Website & Social Media Manager – 12-Month Role
We are seeking a Website & Social Media Manager on a 12-month maternity cover basis to confidently manage multiple websites, curate a multi-platform social media calendar, and bring expertise from sectors such as utilities, construction, engineering, or similar operational industries—to elevate our digital presence.
Job Purpose
The Website & Social Media Manager will oversee the performance, accuracy, and impact of several organisational websites while delivering a cohesive, data-driven social media strategy across multiple platforms. Their experience in utilities, construction, infrastructure, or operational industries will ensure they can translate complex technical work into accessible, engaging digital content.

Key Responsibilities

Website Management
- Manage and optimise multiple websites to ensure accuracy, accessibility, SEO compliance, and alignment with organisational priorities.

Content Strategy
- Plan and deliver content that highlights projects, people, safety, sustainability, and community impact—particularly relevant in utilities, construction, and engineering contexts.

Social Media Management
- Curate and manage a multi-platform social calendar (LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok where applicable) to ensure consistent messaging and timely engagement.

Analytics & Reporting
- Produce monthly performance dashboards across websites and social channels, using insights to drive continuous improvements.

Brand Governance
- Maintain brand consistency across diverse project teams and geographically dispersed sites.

Campaign Delivery
- Support integrated campaigns for major projects, recruitment, apprenticeships, ESG initiatives, and community programmes.

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with operational teams, project managers, HSE leads, and senior stakeholders to gather stories and ensure digital channels reflect real-world activity.

Crisis & Reputation Management
- Monitor channels for issues—particularly around safety, outages, service disruptions, or community concerns—and respond swiftly.
Skills & Experience
✔ Sector Knowledge – Experience in utilities, construction, engineering, infrastructure, or similar strongly preferred.
✔ Digital Marketing Expertise
- Strong grasp of SEO, UX principles, analytics, and content optimisation.
✔ CMS Skills
- Proficient in managing multiple websites via WordPress, Drupal, Sitecore, Umbraco, or equivalent platforms.
✔ Social Media Tools
- Skilled in scheduling, monitoring, and reporting tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite).
✔ Copywriting & Editing
- Ability to translate technical or operational information into clear, engaging content for public audiences.
