Weekend Lecturer in Electrical Engineering
Location: All London-based campuses including Central London, Wembley, Kingsbury, Harrow (Rayners Lane), and Southall | Weekly | Part-time Equity
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum (subject to skills and experience, pro rata for 24 hours/week over three days, equivalent to full-time role on £50,000). Hourly rate: ~£17.26/hour.
Hours: Teaching on Saturdays and Sundays at campus, with an additional weekday session (mornings or afternoons).
Start Date: September 2026

The Role
You will design, deliver, and refine Electrical Engineering teaching sessions while enhancing digital learning experiences. Responsibilities include both offline (campus) and online facilitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deliver lectures/seminars/tutorials in Electrical Engineering aligned with national curriculum standards.
- Develop, update, and digitalise teaching materials, including assignments and assessments.
- Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to module evaluation and improvement.
- Support student pastoral care, including inclusive practices for those with learning support needs.
- Engage with HE education standards, contributing to curriculum validation.
- Collaborate with academic peers to enhance assessment structures and student engagement.
- Lead modules and coordinate with associate lecturers as needed.

Who We’re Looking For
Essential Criteria:
✔ A qualified Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (accredited by relevant CEI/IDSQ/PSP body). ✔ Successful Higher Education teaching experience with digital teaching capability authorised. ✔ Grasp of HE quality assurance processes (e.g., HEQA governance, professional standards). ✔ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to support diverse learning needs. ✔ Student-focused mindset with a commitment to continuity development of teaching methods. ✔ Willingness to pursue HE teaching qualifications (e.g., FHEA, SHEA) if not achieved.
Desirable Qualities:
🔹 A PhD (or equivalent industry leadership). 🔹 Involvement in research, enterprise, or innovation projects. 🔹 HE teaching qualification (SQEF accredited). 🔹 Prior experience leading modules or mentoring academic staff.
