We have major processing sites across England and Wales, and an agricultural network of over 350 farms, spanning from North Yorkshire to the South Coast and Wales.
About The Role:
As a Weighbridge and Intake Operative at Westbury Mill, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of site operations. Responsible for weighing vehicles, checking incoming raw materials, carrying out quality checks, and maintaining accurate records, you will help ensure the safe and efficient production of high-quality animal feed. This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining site standards, safety, and compliance.
Operating Environment
A fast-paced, dynamic Feed manufacturing environment which is noisy and dusty in some areas, manufacturing animal feeds where hygiene standards are critical. The role is predominantly factory based Some weekend duties as set out above together with shared call out duties will be required.

Working Pattern:
- Salary: £13.32 per hour
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 08:00-17:00
- Hours: 40 hrs per week
- Pay: Weekly pay
- Holidays: 31 days AL
- Contract: FTC until 31st January 2027
What will your key responsibilities include?
- Working closely with feed mill production team.
- Ensuring Raw material loads are proceeded to Silo and the relevant quality checks in line with our QA manual are carried out.
- Ensuring the working area is tidy and compliant to industry and customer standards.
- Carrying out other daily duties to ensure the efficient running of Westbury mill operations.
- Weighing vehicles in and out of site, ensuring all delivery and collection documentation is completed accurately and records are maintained.
- Checking incoming raw material loads on arrival and during discharge, reporting any quality, contamination, documentation or safety concerns, and ensuring materials are discharged in accordance with site procedures.
- Assisting with stock management through accurate recording of raw material deliveries, movements and inventory information.
- Welcoming visitors and contractors to site, ensuring site procedures are followed and challenging or reporting non-compliant behaviours where required.
- Cleaning of internal and office areas using a vacuum and other tools and products to remove dust and spillages, keeping facilities areas clean, including the pit area, and presentable as required.
- Alerting Production and Raw Materials teams of any issues with Raw Material.
- Working in adherence to all health and safety standards.
- Helping to obtain samples from mill environment for lab analysis.
- Using lab equipment to process samples as per schedule.
- Working on own recognizance to manage workload to achieve the above.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful:
- Previous experience in QA and production environments
- Previous experience or knowledge of animal feed or agriculture
- Basic level of communication and numeracy
- Good communication skills
- Works on own initiative
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- Reliable
- Forward thinking
- Ambitious with a desire to progress within the Company
