We are now recruiting for the position of Welder Fabricator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, growing team of experts in the field and build on your career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and MIG weld small to medium-sized components from pre-cut and pre-folded materials.
  • Utilise pre-manufactured jigs where required to ensure consistent quality and accuracy.
  • Follow established Quality Assurance (QA) procedures in line with CE accreditation requirements.
  • Utilise both fillet and butt welding processes on mild steel and stainless steel materials, with most work involving stainless steel.
  • Work in accordance with previously written Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Read and interpret component 2D and 3D fabrication drawings accurately.
  • Identify and rectify welding defects and imperfections.
  • Choose appropriate stainless steel and mild steel alloys/filler materials.
  • Complete welding reports/logs.
  • Conduct welding equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Operate grinding tools, finishing tools, gas equipment, and associated workshop machinery.
  • Weld in various positions, including horizontal, vertical, and overhead if applicable.
  • Read measuring devices, tape measures, etc. these to be calibrated frequently.
  • Ensure correct use of supplied Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to all health and safety requirements.
  • Work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision once materials, tools, and drawings have been supplied.
  • Monitor welding, burning, and fitting processes to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
  • Work with the management of materials.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Qualified coded welder in fillet welding, butt welding, or both.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' welding experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings to a high standard.
  • Current Abrasive Wheels training certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong team-working abilities.
  • Good understanding of basic mathematics and measurements.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety procedures, policies, and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Current CSCS card for UK site work is desirable.
  • Experience and certification in the operation of a 2-tonne overhead crane.
  • Manual Handling certification (training can be provided if required).
  • Valid First Aid qualification is desirable.
  • Valid Forklift Truck licence is desirable.
