Welder Fabricator

Job Role: Welder/Fabricator

Location: Cookstown

Hours: 39-hour week, with an option to work either a 4 or 5-day week


We are seeking an experienced welder/fabricator who can thrive in a team-based environment while meeting strict quality standards and production schedules. Your role will involve ensuring safety, precision, and adherence to engineering specifications.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Account for all materials efficiently.
  • Tack and weld materials together according to engineering drawings, maintaining the highest standard of quality.
  • Interpret welding symbols and engineering drawings accurately.
  • Apply Lean Principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Collaborate within a team while demonstrating initiative and self-management.
  • Comply fully with current and future Health & Safety laws, processes, and procedures.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven ability to read and interpret complicated engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Relevant work experience in heavy equipment welding is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, judgment, and decision-making ability.
  • Capacity to diagnose and troubleshoot issues promptly.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks concurrently.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication.
  • Experience working with minimal supervision.
  • Initiation and management of quality improvements.
  • Capacity to meet set targets and performance indicators.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety (H&S) procedures and responsibilities.
