Role Description
The Welder Fabricator will work full time in a remote capacity, supporting the design, fabrication, and repair of conveyor components and related metal structures. Daily responsibilities include:
- Interpreting technical drawings
- Measuring and cutting materials
- Performing MIG/TIG welding and fabrication tasks to produce and modify frames, brackets, guards, and other conveyor parts
- Preparing workpieces
- Assembling and fitting components
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure all fabricated items meet safety and performance standards

The role involves collaborating with engineering and maintenance teams, providing input on design improvements, and documenting work performed to support efficient conveyor installation and repair services. Remote work may include coordinating with on-site staff, planning fabrication jobs, and ensuring timely delivery of fabricated parts to customers or company facilities.

Qualifications
- Strong welding and fabrication abilities, including experience with MIG/TIG welding, cutting, grinding, and metal forming.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication sketches.
- Solid understanding of conveyor systems or industrial machinery, with the ability to fabricate parts that meet mechanical and safety requirements.
- Knowledge of workshop safety practices, safe use of tools and equipment, and adherence to relevant health and safety regulations.
- Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose issues in fabricated components and recommend practical solutions.
- Good communication and collaboration skills for working with remote and on-site teams, suppliers, and service technicians.
- Ability to manage time, organize workloads, and meet deadlines in a remote work setting.
- Previous experience in industrial fabrication, machining, or maintenance environments; conveyor or materials-handling experience is an advantage.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in welding, fabrication, or a closely related trade is preferred.
