Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Southampton area. The Welder MIG & TIG will perform high-precision welding tasks as part of our remanufacturing and repair operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform industrial welding using MIG and TIG techniques on a range of metal components.
  • Follow technical drawings, weld procedures (WPS/PQR), and industry safety standards.
  • Prepare materials, set up welding equipment, and execute precision welds on various metals.
  • Inspect welds to ensure compliance with remanufacturing specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and Technicians to support repair and remanufacturing processes.
  • Document all work accurately, including weld records and quality checks.
  • Maintain and service welding equipment, ensuring tools are ready for use.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and contribute to continuous improvement in workshop practices.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in industrial welding, with expertise in both MIG and TIG methods.
  • Ability to weld on various metals, including stainless steel, carbon steel, and other industrial alloys.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, including their properties and appropriate welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specimens, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, etc.) and quality inspection techniques.
  • Welder certifications (e.g., Welding Inspector, CSA, AWS, or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in heavy engineering, remanufacturing, or OEM repair environments is preferred.
  • Manual dexterity and strict attention to detail required.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a workshop environment.
