About The Role

Location: Sellafield, Seascale

Business Area: BBK

We have an exciting opportunity for a Skilled Welder to join our team working on the Sellafield site, supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure within a highly regulated industrial environment.

As a Welder, you will play a key role in the fabrication, repair and modification of metal components and structures, working to exacting quality and safety standards. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise, a disciplined approach to safety, and the ability to work from detailed engineering information.

What you'll be doing

Carrying out a range of welding activities, including MIG, TIG, Stick and flux-cored welding, in line with project and engineering specifications Setting up welding equipment and selecting the appropriate materials, processes and techniques for each task Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine welding requirements Producing welds that meet required tolerances, quality standards and inspection criteria Inspecting completed welds for strength, penetration and visual quality Supporting weld testing and inspection activities, including visual and non-destructive testing where required Maintaining welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are clean, safe and in full working order Reporting any equipment faults or maintenance requirements to your supervisor Working safely at all times, actively contributing to a clean, compliant and well-organised work environment Collaborating with other welders, fabricators and wider project teams to support programme delivery Communicating clearly on progress, technical issues and any changes to specifications

Who we're looking for

A time-served apprenticeship in Welding or a closely related engineering discipline Level 2 Diploma in Welding or equivalent Level 2/3 Welding and Engineering Craft qualification Hold time-served status supported by a recognised apprenticeship framework BS EN ISO 9606 Coded Welding Qualification Proven experience welding in an industrial or heavy engineering environment Strong understanding of quality, safety and compliance within regulated sites
