GENERAL SUMMARY The Welding Quality Engineer (Technical), will undertake Process & Product verification in line with company systems and management direction, ensuring parts are fully in accordance with applicable drawings and/or procedures. This will include purchased, manufactured and assembled items within the Glasgow (Cathcart) facility. These activities shall be in accordance with company policies and procedures to meet external regulations such as: ISO 9001, ASME, EN 9712 (PCN) and SNT-TC-1A.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducting all activities whilst maintaining the highest degree of ethics and integrity. Verification of product manufactured, purchased or assembled, in accordance with applicable drawings, procedures, route cards or other forms of detailed instruction. Monitor use of Weld consumables in compliance with relevant WPS. Monitor and perform Visual Inspections of Pre Weld Setups, In process welding activities and completed welds to ensure compliance with applicable PQR’s / WPS. Etc. Conduct weld surveillance, recording necessary data when required by the project. Produce Weld Maps as required by Projects. Final Assembly Dimensional Inspection as per specified drawings and specs. Coordinating with internal departments to identify, define and resolve product quality problems relating to welding / fabrication, whilst providing advice, guidance and support. Support Welder Qualification Testing as required. Promote and adhere to Clyde Union Ltd Environmental Health and Safety policies, with awareness of the risks and hazards to self, whilst maintaining controls necessary to protect others. Developing self within role Commit to training others, to ensure workforce flexibility and meet business demands. Creating and maintaining good working relationships. Employees are expected to work whatever reasonable hours are necessary to meet the requirements of their job. Travel to sister, vendor or customer sites, and additional duties may be required on an ad hoc basis, so a degree of flexibility is required. Conduct all reasonable requests out with core duties to support the business aims. Process compliance in relation to Route Cards and SAP transactions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 Visual testing Experience in Fabrication, Welding and Assembly. Working knowledge of company SAP System appropriate to function (Desirable). Experience of NDT processes / requirements and acceptance criteria. Basic level of computer proficiency. Experience of ISO9001,NQA-1, ASME Codes and Standards, RCC-M, ASNT-TC-1A and EN ISO 9712 would be an advantage. Basic knowledge of EHS principals. Good communication (both written and oral), influencing and interpersonal skills High level of attention to detail. High degree of integrity with highly professional conduct. Able to work under own initiative with limited supervision.
