6G Coded Repair Welder
We are seeking an experienced 6G Coded Repair Welder to join our Monopile Fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality repair welding on large structural steel components used in the manufacture of offshore wind foundations. This role requires extensive experience in repair welding, air carbon arc gouging, and working to stringent quality standards within a heavy fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out coded repair welding on monopile sections, cans, flanges, and secondary steel assemblies.
- Perform weld repairs in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), repair procedures, and engineering instructions.
- Use Air Carbon Arc (CAC-A) Gouging to remove weld defects and prepare joints for repair.
- Grind, prepare, and finish repaired areas to the required specification.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld maps, repair documentation, and fabrication procedures.
- Work from Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) reports to locate and repair identified weld defects.
- Complete welding activities in accordance with project quality requirements and relevant international standards.
- Ensure all repairs are completed to meet acceptance criteria prior to final inspection.
- Maintain accurate records of completed repairs and consumables where required.
- Work safely in accordance with company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce repair rates and improve weld quality.

Essential Requirements
- Valid 6G Welding Qualification in the required welding process(es) applicable to monopile fabrication (SAW, FCAW, MAG/GMAW, or MMA as required).
- Proven experience carrying out repair welding within heavy structural steel fabrication.
- Demonstrable experience using Air Carbon Arc Gouging (CAC-A) for weld excavation and defect removal.
- Experience working on thick-section carbon steel components.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, WPSs, and repair procedures.
- Experience repairing weld defects identified by Visual Inspection, Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), or other NDT methods.
- Strong understanding of weld quality requirements and acceptance standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a production environment.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

- Hourly rate: £22.17ph
- Opportunity for shift allowance (Shifts commencing late 2026)
- Overtime: 1.33, 1.5 and 2
