Location: Lancashire
Salary: Up to £41,000 per annum depending on qualifications and teaching experience.
Industry candidates: £32,000 - £34,000 per annum depending on experience.
Contract Type: Full time, Permanent

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Workshop Tutor in Engineering, specialising in Welding processes, to join a successful and growing education and training provider on a full-time, permanent basis in Lancashire.
We are looking for candidates with experience in some or all of the following areas:
- MIG Welding
- TIG Welding
- MMA Welding
- Sheet Metal
Candidates with other relevant engineering or fabrication experience are also encouraged to apply, as we are keen to explore how your skills could complement our existing team of industry specialists.
This role could suit:
- An experienced tutor, assessor, or teacher looking for their next challenge
- An experienced industry professional looking to move into education and training
Industry candidates are very welcome to apply and will only need a minimum Level 3 qualification in Welding or a related subject. Full training and support to achieve relevant teaching qualifications can be provided.

The successful candidate may occasionally be required to travel across different sites within Lancashire.
What You Will Be Doing
- Training apprentices in the workshop to develop their knowledge, skills, and behaviours to industry standard
- Planning and delivering high-quality practical workshop sessions
- Preparing learning materials and resources
- Completing assessments in line with Awarding Body and EPAO requirements
- Working closely with assessors and training staff to monitor apprentice progress and achievement
- Contributing to regular learner progress reviews
What We Are Looking For
- Substantial current industry experience and knowledge within engineering and welding
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Welding, Fabrication, or a relevant engineering subject
- Teaching qualification at Level 3 or above, or willingness to work towards one
- A1 qualification (desirable)
