Welfare Adviser
Welfare Adviser – Fixed Term, Term Time Only | Capital City College

About The Role
This term-time only (40 hours), Fixed Term position runs until 18 December 2026.
The Welfare Adviser ensures student welfare by providing practical support, guidance, and pastoral care to help learners thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support and advice to students facing personal, financial, or health-related challenges
- Offer pastoral care and advocate for learners’ needs
- Collaborate with team members and external partners to deliver inclusive, high-quality support
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to Data Protection and information sharing regulations
- Promote a positive, inclusive environment where all students feel valued
- Work with DBS checks in line with safeguarding requirements

You’ll join a friendly, professional team dedicated to delivering excellence in student support. The team consists of four dynamic colleagues, fostering collaboration, best practice sharing, and innovative approaches.

- Excels in organisation and multitasking, handling various responsibilities efficiently and accurately
- Communicates compassionately and professionally
- Has experience in welfare/advice roles, including dealing with:
- Health and well-being
- Financial hardship
- Housing concerns
- Personal crises
- Demonstrates a proactive, solution-focused approach and a willingness to learn
- Upholds high standards of confidentiality, integrity, and ethical conduct
- Values collaboration and continuous improvement
