As one of the fastest-growing Colleges in the UK, Weston College is excited to be opening the brand-new Advanced Manufacturing Technical Excellence College in Filton, Bristol, which will welcome its first learners in September 2026.
We are looking for a Welfare and Safeguarding Lead to join the team there on a full-time basis.
This role will be the lead for Welfare and Safeguarding to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all learners and will be responsible for effective welfare and mental health support, advice and guidance for all learners.
Day to day duties of the role include:
- Providing effective safeguarding support to learners.
- Safeguarding case management.
- Safeguarding education, training and promotion.
- Partnership and Multi-Agency working.

Required skills and qualifications include:
- Level 2 Safeguarding qualifications.
- Proven experience of dealing with complex safeguarding / wellbeing referrals, working in a student-centric way, putting first the safety and wellbeing of students.
- Demonstrable experience of dealing with incidents and emergencies, overseeing areas used by young people and managing behaviour.
- Demonstrable experience of planning, promoting and organising events and activities for young people, including supporting young people to plan and deliver their own events and activities.
- Excellent communication, decision making, and multi-agency liaison skills.
