Harris Hill is working in partnership with a leading organisation supporting people living with HIV to recruit a Welfare Rights Advisor. This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven team providing practical advice, advocacy, and support to help people navigate complex welfare and benefits systems and maximise their income.

Role Overview

The role is predominantly remote, with the successful candidate required to attend HIV clinics across central London one day per week, usually for a half day, as part of an outreach-based service. The position is offered on a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension, and can be full-time or part-time, with a minimum commitment of two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

As Welfare Rights Advisor, you will:

• Provide high-quality one-to-one welfare benefits advice and support to clients, assessing their needs, developing action plans, and helping them access the financial support to which they are entitled.
• Support clients with welfare forms, advocacy, and tribunal attendance where required.
• Make appropriate referrals to other specialist services.
• Work closely with health and social care organisations.
• Deliver outreach in HIV clinics.
• Organise workshops and training sessions for frontline professionals and NHS staff.
• Provide updates to colleagues on welfare and benefits legislation.
• Support and develop volunteers.
• Contribute to drop-in sessions.
• Ensure that client records, monitoring information, and reports are maintained accurately and effectively.
