About the Role
As a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Spencer House Care Home, you’ll collaborate closely with the Wellbeing Coordinator to design and deliver a rich variety of activities tailored to resident needs. Your daily work will directly contribute to their physical, cognitive, and social well-being, ensuring each moment is vibrant and fulfilling.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and facilitate engaging activities and events that stimulate and energise residents.
- Partner with the Wellbeing Coordinator to monitor resident involvement and feedback and adjust activities accordingly.
- Report any noticeable changes in residents’ physical or emotional well-being to the Wellbeing Coordinator, Home Manager, and care team.
- Maintain a safe, pleasant, and welcoming environment for both residents and staff, upholding Avery’s reputation for excellence.
- Assist with activity supplies management, ensuring smooth event preparations.
- Strengthen connections with local community partners such as schools, cultural organisations, and inviting intergenerational collaborations.
- Support the care team’s efforts to enhance residents’ lives through connection and engagement.

Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience working in residential care—preferably within nursing homes, activities-focused roles, or dementia support settings.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with residents, colleagues, and families.
- A passionate commitment to enhancing the physical and emotional well-being of older adults through thoughtful, tailored activities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, fitting seamlessly into our team.
