Wellbeing and Activities Assistant – Greenholme House Care Home, Burley-in-Wharfedale

Shift Details: 09.30 AM – 18.00 PM

We’re now looking for a warm, energetic, and passionate individual to join our award-winning team as a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Greenholme House Care Home in Burley-in-Wharfedale.


About the Role

In this position, you’ll collaborate closely with the Wellbeing Coordinator to deliver a diverse range of engaging activities aimed at fostering the physical, cognitive, and social well-being of our residents. This includes:

  • Designing and facilitating activities that stimulate and uplift residents.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive living environment while upholding the professionalism of the home.
  • Communicating promptly to the Wellbeing Coordinator, Home Manager, and care staff any changes in residents’ physical or emotional well-being.
  • Assisting with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities under guidance.
  • Fostering community connections by establishing relationships with local partners such as schools, spiritual groups, museums, and libraries to encourage intergenerational activities.

Responsibilities

Here are some of the key responsibilities you’ll manage in this role:

  • Ensuring activities are inclusive, stimulating, and tailored to individual needs.
  • Supporting a positive and professional Image of the home for residents, visitors, and staff.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to create a vibrant and fulfilling environment for residents.
  • Adhering to health and safety standards in all daily tasks and activities.

About You (The Ideal Candidate)

To thrive in this role, you need to embody our core values: caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable. Our ideal candidate possesses the following qualities and experience:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with residents, colleagues, and external partners.
  • A deep understanding of how social interaction contributes to overall well-being.
  • A positively energetic attitude towards working with older adults and an unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality, stimulating activities.
  • Previous experience in either a residential care setting or a nursing/dementia care role with older adults.
