Wellbeing Coordinator (Part-Time) - Kaplan Living, Bournemouth
Location: Kaplan Living, Bournemouth Working Pattern: Part-time, 50 hours per month Contract Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Live-in Requirement: Successful applicant must be a student Salary: £13.45 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team at Kaplan Living Bournemouth. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that students feel safe, supported, and integrated into the residential community.
Role Summary
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing strong knowledge of and adhering to guidelines and protocols within your role.
- Fostering a culture of resident welfare, while ensuring alignment with Kaplan UK Pathways Student Code of Conduct and residence behaviour policies.
- Working alongside the college team to oversee safeguarding and duty of care for students residing at Kaplan housing.
- Promoting a welcoming, safe, and friendly environment for students in collaboration with staff.
- Providing prompt, effective responses via emails and communication platforms to resolve issues efficiently.
- Attending monthly safeguarding meetings (remote or in-person).
- Leading Welcome Week introduction sessions for new students within each academic cohort.
- Overseeing the U18 Students Welcome and Induction Programme, providing support and guidance to ensure smooth integration into life in the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in Health and Safety, wellbeing, or education, looking to expand their skills within a recognized educational leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with established guidelines and policies.
- Promote student welfare and safeguardingwhile adhering to behavioural expectations.
- Collaborate with college and residential staff to create a supportive living environment.
- Deliver timely resolutions to queries and incidents via email or other communication channels.
- Represent safeguarding concerns in monthly meetings (Hybrid).
- Conduct introductory activities for new students during Welcome Week.
- Act as a central point for support and assistance during the U18 Induction Programme.

Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking energetic and compassionate individuals who:
- Demonstrate a genuine commitment to student well-being and safeguarding.
- Possess a welcoming and approachable personality.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including:
- Clear English (written and spoken).
- Ability to engage effectively with non-native speakers.
- Capacity to produce clear documentation, including incident reports.
- Quick-thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
- Are proactive in identifying needs and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Are culturally aware and adaptable.
- Fully commit to following guidelines and ocolaborative teamwork.
- Have experience (or strong interest) in support roles such as counselling, teaching, care, or student welfare.
A passion for education and a belief in the transformative power of student support is essential.

Joining the Team
Salary & Work Arrangement
- Starting pay: £13.45 per hour equivalent to 50 hours/month
- Part-time basis, ideal for students or those balancing other commitments.
