Wellbeing Coordinator

Location: Kaplan Living, Bournemouth Working Pattern: Part Time (50 hours per month) Contract Type: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract Live-in Position: Successful applicant must be a student Salary: £13.45 per hour


About the Role

We are looking for a Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team at Kaplan Living Bournemouth, ensuring our students feel safe, supported, and integrated within the residential community.


Role Summary

As the Wellbeing Coordinator, your primary responsibilities will include promoting resident welfare, ensuring compliance with policies, collaborating on safeguarding duties, fostering a welcoming environment, and leading key orientation and induction programmes—particularly for younger students (U18). This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people while developing their career in a well-recognised education leader.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain compliant knowledge of guidelines and protocols in all operational areas
  • Uphold student welfare and ensure adherence to:
    • Kaplan UK Pathways Student Code of Conduct
    • Residence Behaviour Policies
  • Share responsibilities for safeguarding and duty of care for students in residential accommodation, working closely with college staff

Core Duties

  • Collaborate with college and residence teams to cultivate a welcoming, secure, and supportive community for students
  • Provide timely, clear responses via email and other communication channels to resolve issues effectively
  • Attend regular safeguarding meetings (online/facial)
  • Facilitate Welcome Week introductory sessions for new student arrivals each academic cohort
  • Lead U18 student orientation/programme to ease transitions, address individual needs, and ensure lasting integration over their stay

    • Writing detailed incident reports professionally

  • Demonstrates proactive initiative by escalating and following-through to resolutions
  • Is open to growth and committed to adherence with established safety protocols
  • Builds rapid trust with students, colleagues, and the wider team
  • Operates effectively in cross-team collaboration, ensuring seamless information sharing
  • Represents Kaplan Pathways in a positive light
