Wellbeing & Engagement Coordinator
Student Wellbeing & Engagement Coordinator – Kingston University International Study Centre Full-Time, Fixed-Term (1 Year) | Kingston Upon Thames | Salary (up to £30,000 p/a)
About the Role
As part of the Student Experience Team, you’ll be responsible for coordinating student wellbeing, enrichment and engagement within the Kingston University International Study Centre, reporting to the Director of Campus Operations. Your role will include operational management of the Student Wellbeing & Engagement Officers, while also serving as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring compliance with safeguarding regulations and the ability to escalate concerns as necessary.
The core responsibilities include:
Key Duties

Student Welfare & Safeguarding
- Oversee provision of student welfare, safeguarding, Prevent, and enrichment including administration and secure record-keeping
- Manage casework via Learning, Development, and Wellbeing Database (LDHD), ensuring fair distribution among Welfare Officers
- Lead safeguarding policies in line with Study Group’s SOPs and regulations, including duties as Designated Safeguarding Lead (authority to escalate concerns and raise safeguarding issues)
- Monitor student whereabouts, coordinate prompts/processes, and create Agreed Support Plans (ASPs), Safety Plans, and Exit Plans

Engagement & Holistic Support
- Organise induction activities, wellbeing sessions, and enrichment events to build student confidence and community, collaborating with the Senior Coordinator Progression
- Identify areas for improvement using annual data and drive changes for welfare and learning support
- Represent the centre in governance committees, including safeguarding reviews and central monitoring reports

Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and supervise the Welfare and Enrichment Officers, conducting case reviews and one-to-ones in collaboration with the Central Student Wellbeing Team
- Perform performance management (setting objectives, KPIs, and formal reviews) and facilitating staff development
- Enhance consistency of welfare support through collaboration with ISC departments and university partnerships

Strategic Delivery
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Study Group’s Student Experience & Wellbeing Strategy
- Advocate inclusive practice, maintain the online Virtual Reception’s Wellbeing page, and analyse data to assess welfare impact
- Recruit new staff, attend safeguarding sessions (DSL meetings), and represent the centre at external events
- Assist with student inductions and resolve general inquiries via phone, email, and in-person
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience to demonstrate independent thinking and organisational skills)
- Experience:
- Training/qualifications in administration or management
- Higher-level safeguarding training
- Line management experience and working in an educational context
- Strong skill set in developing, promoting, and managing student experience initiatives
- Personality & Attitude: Compassionate, proactive, and skilled in building relationships and leading contentious issues
