The vacancy

DN Colleges Group is looking for a passionate and learner-focused Wellbeing Coach to join our Wellbeing, Inclusion, Safeguarding and Prevent team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners in overcoming barriers to education, improving their wellbeing, attendance and engagement, and helping them achieve their personal and academic goals.

Working closely with curriculum teams, parents/carers and external agencies, you will provide targeted interventions, wellbeing support and guidance to ensure learners feel safe, supported and empowered to succeed. You will manage an allocated caseload of learners, deliver one-to-one and group support, develop wellbeing action plans, and contribute to the wider safeguarding, inclusion and personal development agenda across the College.

Working Hours: 35.5 hours over 40 weeks

Actual Salary: £20,100.77 - £21,104.62 Per annum

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide wellbeing support and interventions for learners through the Wellbeing Centre and associated support systems.
  • Manage learner concerns, monitor wellbeing and attendance, and implement targeted support plans to improve outcomes.
  • Work closely with curriculum staff, parents/carers and external agencies to support learner retention, progression and achievement.
  • Set, review and monitor SMART targets and wellbeing action plans to promote learner success and independence.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and make appropriate referrals to internal and external support services.
  • Support learners' personal development, behaviour, attitudes, employability skills and career progression.
  • Contribute to safeguarding, Prevent, inclusion and wellbeing initiatives across the College.

Essential Criteria

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Experience of supporting learners within a teaching, tutoring, mentoring or coaching environment.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage caseloads, prioritise workload and use ICT systems effectively.
  • Understanding of learner wellbeing, attendance, safeguarding, Prevent and inclusion-related issues that may impact educational success.

Each new member of staff has an allocated Lead Practitioner who works closely with them throughout the programme.

The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
