About the Role

Help people build confidence, resilience and hope.

At Rethink Mental Illness, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live the life they want, regardless of the challenges they face. We're looking for a compassionate, trauma-informed and motivated Wellbeing Practitioner to join our innovative Sequoia Service and help transform support for people living with complex emotional needs and personality difficulties.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a service that's breaking down barriers, challenging stigma and ensuring people receive the right support at the right time. Working across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG), you'll play a vital role in helping people develop coping strategies, improve wellbeing and achieve meaningful recovery outcomes.

About the Role

As a Wellbeing Practitioner, you'll work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred, psychologically informed support within the community. You'll facilitate psychoeducational groups, support peer-led activities, promote mental health awareness and help people build the skills and confidence needed to manage their wellbeing.

This is a field-based role, meaning you'll work from home, community venues and partner locations across BNSSG. You'll be provided with the equipment you need, including a laptop and smartphone, and travel expenses will be covered when required.

What you'll be doing

  • Delivering high-quality, recovery-focused support to people with complex emotional needs and personality difficulties.
  • Facilitating psychoeducational groups, wellbeing sessions and brief interventions.
  • Supporting people to develop personalised wellbeing and recovery plans.
  • Working collaboratively with Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP), community partners and Experts by Experience.
  • Promoting greater understanding of personality difficulties and challenging mental health stigma.
  • Contributing to service development through co-production, feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting service monitoring and outcome reporting.
  • Supporting volunteers and helping create a welcoming, inclusive service environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion

Diversity is important to us, and we appreciate difference through difference, inclusiveness and belonging. It gives us a deeper understanding of the world, our society and the diverse communities we’re working with. By including everyone, we are able to draw on the unique experiences and expertise of our people to help shape and enrich our workplace and improve our services. One way we are doing is through our valued staff networks which play a critical and highly valued role in keeping us focused on creating a diverse, inclusive and engaged employer. We recognise and support staff networks and support groups for our ethnically diverse and LGBTQIA+ colleagues. We are also proud to have been awarded Disability Confident Employer status and are a signatory to the Business in the Community Race at Work Charter.

We aim for our workforce to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve; for those who work for us to feel heard, valued and feel they belong; and for our work to help tackle wider mental health inequalities. We therefore actively encourage and welcome applications from everyone, including applicants with lived experience of mental illness, those who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual and any other gender identity not expressed here (LGBTQIA+); people who are neurodiverse, have a health condition, or a disability or hidden disability and people from an ethnically diverse background - regardless of your age, religious or spiritual belief, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, pregnancy, political view or socio-economic status.

Becoming a truly anti-racist organisation

We have an ambition of becoming a truly anti-racist employer, campaigning organisation and service provider - and in our efforts to influence policy and wider societal factors impacting on mental health set out in our anti-racist statement. We have designed a multi-year anti-racist programme of work contained in our Race Equality Action Plan which demonstrates our intention to hold ourselves accountable and be judged on our progress on becoming a truly anti-racist organisation.
