Company Description

Carters Bespoke is a small, highly skilled workshop based in Yeadon, West Yorkshire, specializing in handcrafted kitchens and bedrooms. The team, led by Scott, manages every stage of the process in-house, from initial design sketch through to final fitting. This end-to-end approach allows for truly bespoke work, tailored to each client’s space and style. There are no middlemen, which means close collaboration, high-quality craftsmanship, and pride in every project delivered.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Bench Joiner role based in Yeadon. The Bench Joiner will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality bespoke kitchen and bedroom components, working from detailed drawings and measurements. Day-to-day tasks include:

Qualifications

  • Strong bench joinery experience, including accurate measuring, cutting, and assembling timber components.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and woodworking machinery, with a solid understanding of workshop safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications for bespoke furniture and fittings.
  • Attention to detail in finishing, sanding, and fitting work to deliver high-quality, consistent craftsmanship.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to unique design requirements and custom builds.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a small workshop team.
  • Previous experience in bespoke kitchens, bedrooms, or furniture making is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant joinery or carpentry qualification/apprenticeship, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
