**Whey Process Operator (WPO) – Saputo Dairy UK
About the Role

The Whey Process Operator (WPO) plays a critical role in ensuring the high-quality production of our products. Key responsibilities include:
- Running and monitoring machinery precision via computer systems
- Conducting on-going checks on key production metrics
- Recording data and ensuring system compliance
- Arranging manual tasks—such as pipe changes, equipment maintenance, and cleaning—alongside technical duties
This role is ideal for someone with experience in:
- Operating diverse computerised machinery systems
- Interacting with gauges, pressure valves, and meter readers
- Following food safety standards (GMP, health & safety, etc.)
Shift Pattern
- 3-on, 3-off rotating shifts (covering days and nights)
- 7 days a week
You’ll Make a Tangible Contribution by…
- Operating process plant components to strict quality standards
- Implementing and tracking production plans for accuracy
- Ensuring required samples are collected for technical testing

Ideal Candidate Attributes
- Proven experience managing computerised systems in a production role
- Strong hands-on technical skills, including:
- Gauges & equipment readings
- Pressure valve operation
- Understanding of meter & process controls
- Team player with a willingness to collaborate and learn
- Comfortable with technical training and adapting to process changes
- Commitment to Observing all food safety regulations in a leading manufacturing environment
