Wigs and Make Up Technician x2

Senior Wigs & Make-Up Technician

Fixed-Term Contract until 31st August 2027 Location: Covent Garden, London Hours: Full-time (42.5 hours per week) Salary: £42,571.31 per annum

About the Role

Prior to applying, please review our application guide.

The Royal Ballet and Opera continue to innovate in opera, ballet, music, and dance, both on stage and through digital platforms such as live streaming and cinema screenings. Our Covent Garden theatre has anchored London’s and Britain’s cultural life for three centuries, serving as the home to two world-class companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera.

The Royal Opera House represents our workplace, but not our identity. Our organisation’s cultural impact extends far beyond our theatre—three-quarters of our audiences experience our arts beyond these walls. While Covent Garden remains ahaven for artistic excellence, our influence spreads across the UK and globally.

The Technical, Production and Costume Department ensures each performance—whether at rehearsals or live shows—reaches the highest technical standards. We are now seeking an experienced Wigs & Make-Up Technician for a fixed-term role until 31st August 2027. Responsibilities include wig making and styling, hairdressing, and making-up for Royal Ballet and Opera productions, encompassing theatre, media, and television.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
