Nordex has an exciting opportunity for the role of Wind Turbine Service Technician based at Millennium Windfarm in Inverness-Shire.

Location: Millennium Windfarm, Inverness-Shire

Hours:
- Core hours: 37 per week (Monday – Thursday: 8am – 4:30pm and Friday: 8am – 1pm)
- Overtime & On-call: Required when necessary, typically every 2nd or 3rd weekend (dependent on team size). Overtime is paid at time-and-a-half, and weekend on-call responsibilities include an additional payment.
- Availability: Successful candidates must live within one hour drive of the windfarm.
How Can You Make A Difference?
As a Wind Turbine Service Technician, you’ll ensure the servicing, maintenance and high-level operation of Nordex wind turbines across the Millennium Windfarm in Inverness-Shire.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining wind turbine performance.
- Conducting technical fault-finding and analysis to optimise turbine output and fleet availability.
- Collaborating with site technicians and back-office teams for training and improvement demonstrations.
Key Responsibilities
You will be expected to:
- Perform on-site performance analysis and implement technical action plans.
- Work with technicians and back-office staff to demonstrate and troubleshoot issues in real-world scenarios.
- Address single-turbine improvements for problem units.
- Carry out in-person and over-the-phone technical support.
- Manage technical documentation, diagnostics reporting and parameter updates.
- Disable specific turbine functions and handle alarm conditions when needed.

What Are We Looking For?
The ideal candidate will have:
- A background in Mechanical/Electrical, with expertise in electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Qualification: NVQ Level 3 or higher (either time-served or equivalent).
- Exceptional problem-solving skills to define technical issues and develop effective solutions.
- A proven ability to extract critical information from technical datasheets and schematics.
Other Key Attributes & Behaviours
- Highly adaptable in fast-paced environments with changing challenges.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with MS Office packages, internal databases and workload management tools.
- Working at heights experience (up to 140m) and an ability to pass a height inspection test.
- Availability to travel when necessary, including overnight assignments.
- Valid UK/EU Driving Licence.
