Optinergy - Wind Turbine Technician
Optinergy, part of the Galetech Group, is a leading independent provider of Operations and Maintenance services to the renewable energy sector. With a strong focus on performance, safety, and customer delivery, we support a diverse portfolio of wind assets across Ireland and the UK.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Wind Turbine Technician to support our operations across Northern Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team and further develop your career within a progressive and expanding organisation.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, flexible working arrangements, and ongoing support for training and career development.
Location Requirement
This role is based out of Dungiven, with travel required across Northern Ireland. Candidates must either currently reside within a commutable distance or be willing to relocate. This is a field-based role, and flexibility is essential to support operational response times across multiple sites.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a fleet of Vestas wind turbines (V27 through to V52 platforms) and Vergnet turbines.
This is a hands-on, operational role focused on turbine availability, fault response, and the safe and efficient execution of all maintenance activities. Strong experience on Vestas platforms is essential, while experience with Vergnet turbines would be highly desirable.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
