Job Opportunity: Windchill Developer
We are looking for an experienced Windchill Developer to join our PLM team, responsible for the configuration, customization, integration, and support of PTC Windchill solutions. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams (business, IT, engineering, manufacturing) to ensure PLM capabilities effectively support product lifecycle processes and business needs. - Configure and customize Windchill PDM Link modules (Change, Document, BOM Management, etc.).
- Design, develop, and maintain Windchill workflows, lifecycle templates, and business rules.
- Implement customizations using Java, JSP, XML, and Windchill APIs following best practices.
- Integrate Windchill with ERP and other enterprise systems using Info*Engine and web services.
- Ensure robust and reliable data exchange, synchronization, and integrity between Windchill and external systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windchill performance, scalability, access, and data integrity.
- Provide ongoing application support, maintenance, and assist with upgrades, patches, and environment changes.
- Collaborate with business analysts, engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams to gather and refine PLM requirements.
- Translate business requirements into effective Windchill configurations, customizations, and workflows.
- Advise on PLM best practices, participate in design reviews, solution validation, and user acceptance testing.
Requirements
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in PTC Windchill development and support.
- Strong knowledge of Windchill PDMLink modules, architecture, and deployment models.
- Hands-on experience with Windchill BRF and Info*Engine for integrations and automation.
- Solid understanding of PLM concepts and product lifecycle processes (design, change, release, manufacturing).
- Experience working in engineering/manufacturing or complex enterprise environments.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery environments and collaboration in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (e.g., Git/SVN, build/deployment, automated testing).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must be a UK National, preferably with prior SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain SC.
- Able to commute to, or regularly travel to, Stevenage office/customer site as required.
