Winder/ Fitter

About The Role
Sulzer Falkirk is a strategic investment site, built to be one of the most advanced rotating equipment service centres in the UK.
That investment is real — bigger machines, heavier lifts, and a 2 MW high‑voltage test bed that lets us fully load‑test motors and generators before they go back to site.
Main Tasks And Responsibilities
Dismantling, rewinding, rebuilding and testing AC and DC motors, including traction motors LV motor rewinds and full electro‑mechanical overhauls Strip, clean and prepare stators and armatures for rewinding Manufacture and fit coils to original design — random wound and formed coils Dip, bake and varnish windings using dip tanks or VPI where required Carry out static electrical tests and record results Basic mechanical fitting on associated equipment like pumps and gearboxes

What We’re Looking For
Time‑served Winder, Fitter or Electrical Machine Repair background Solid experience stripping, rewinding, assembling and testing AC/DC motors Comfortable in a mechanical / electrical workshop environment Can read drawings, follow procedures, and work methodically Takes pride in quality and doing the job right first time Formal qualifications help — hands‑on experience matters more.
