Windows Platform Engineer with advanced PowerShell & IaC experience
Sought by a Elite and London-headquartered Alternative Investment Manager. Our client is highly innovative and technology-driven and is largely recognised as a Centre-of-Excellence for all things Microsoft.
We have been mandated to identify a high-energy and proactive Windows Automation & Platform Engineer with expertise in PowerShell, a passion for Infrastructure-as-Code, and robust experience and skills with Microsoft Infrastructure Platforms. You will join a small but highly collaborative and logical team owning Wintel platforms and Automations across complex, multi-site environments, in a Project Lead Engineer capacity. You will work directly with highly sophisticated customers managing Billions of AUM via Systematic Strategies as well as partnering with Peer Technology teams. You will own Windows-based infrastructure and IaC projects from an idea, into architecture and design through implementation, testing, and operational handover.
We require someone who enjoys working with users in order to build trust and confidence, with high energy and enthusiasm who enjoys learning and keeping very busy with highly varied and deeply technical engineering work, in a flat non-bureaucratic environment with state-of-the art platforms.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
